The Schengen area is composed of the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Malta, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The Schengen Visa is an authorization issued by a Member State for the purpose of airport transit or short stays in the territory of one or more Member States, allowing the holder to present himself at the external border.
A short-stay visa does not automatically confer the right to enter the Schengen area, it only entitles its holder to present himself at a border post and apply for entry into the country [Article 30 of the Visa Code, article 5 of the Convention for the Application of the Schengen Agreement and article 6 of the Borders Code].
At the border, you may be required to present documentation related to the conditions of stay, for example, relating to the availability of sufficient means of subsistence to cover your stay and return trip, accommodation conditions and valid travel medical insurance.
The Schengen visa is intended for short stays of up to 90 days in each 180-day period and can be granted for the purposes of tourism, family visit, business, seasonal work, transit, among others.

Your name must be listed exactly as it appears on your passport. Any differences between the name on your passport and the name on your invitation letter or other documentation could lead to a delay and/or denial of your visa. | |
Please note ICEER Conferences and the organizing committee of the conference are not authorized to assist with the VISA process beyond providing the Notification of Invitation Letter issued by ICEER Conferences and conference Committee Board. Should your application be denied, ICEER Conferences and the organizing committee of the conference cannot change the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor will ICEER Conferences and the organizing committee of the conference engage in discussion or correspondence with the MOFA or the Embassy on behalf of the applicant. The registration fee cannot be refunded when the VISA application of individual being denied. | |
